1. Present petition has been filed under Section 29A(4) of Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996, whereby the claimant seeks extension of period by another nine months. The mandate has, reportedly, expired on 01.06.2026.
2. Justice Manmohan Singh (retired) has been appointed as learned Sole Arbitrator vide order dated 06.12.2019.

Learned counsel for the plaintiff submits that the record is voluminous and that delay is neither intentional nor deliberate. He also submits that the case is at the stage of final arguments.

Learned counsel for respondent, who appears on advance notice, submits that though the case is at the stage of final arguments, learned This is a digitally signed order. Arbitrator has rather directed the claimant to file an affidavit with respect to admission/denial of documents.
5. The next date before the learned Arbitrator is 11.10.2026.
6. Keeping in mind the overall facts and circumstances of the case and in the interest of justice, the mandate of Sole Arbitrator is hereby extended for another period of nine months, to be reckoned from 01.06.2026.
7. Since the matter has already got delayed considerably, both the sides shall give requisite assistance and cooperation to the learned Sole Arbitrator so as to ensure quick conclusion of the arbitral proceedings.
8. The petition stands disposed of in aforesaid terms.
9. As a necessary corollary, the interregnum period stands regularized.
