Das, learned counsel for the petitioner, submits that letters were sent to the petitioners informing them that, due to their failure to provide instructions enabling the counsel to take appropriate steps, they wished to withdraw their power in the matter. However, no information were forthcoming. The petitioners were engaged as Block MIS Managers (PMAY-G), as per the contract agreement dated 06.12.2016, under the establishment of various blocks in Cachar District. Apprehending replacement by a new set of contractual employees in pursuance of the advertisement dated 14.08.2017 issued by the Commissioner, Panchayat and Rural Development, which notified 9 (nine) posts of District MIS Manager for contractual appointments, the petitioners have filed the present writ petitions. On 28.06.2023, the learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that although an interim order had been previously granted by this Court, Page No.# 6/6 the respondents have proceeded to appoint new recruits in accordance with the aforementioned advertisement and the petitioners are presently not allowed to work. Having considered that, despite the letters seeking information/instructions for taking steps in the matter, no information appears to have been supplied to the learned counsel by the petitioners, which indicates that the petitioners are no longer interested in pursuing the matter, as they have been disengaged from their services and the posts appear to have been filled up pursuant to the advertisement dated 14.08.2017, these writ petitions stand dismissed for non prosecution.
