Respondents PRAYER :- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to rectify the road and to remove unnecessary 1/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.9904 of 2026 curves and zigzag turnings and to lay straight road from Azathpuram to Pathai road, Kalakad Municipality, Tirunelveli District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 09.02.2026 in accordance with law within a stipulated period as framed by this court. For Petitioner : Mr.R.Mohanasundaram For R1 & R2 : Mr.A.Kannan Additional Government Pleader For R3 : Mr.J.Parekh Kumar ORDER (Judgment of the Court was made by N.SATHISH KUMAR, J.) The prayer in this writ petition is for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to rectify the road and to remove unnecessary curves and zigzag turnings and to lay straight road from Azathpuram to Pathai road, Kalakad Municipality, Tirunelveli District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 09.02.2026 in accordance with law within a time frame. 2. At the outset, we are of the view that the very legal right of the petitioner is not available to seek such prayer. The affidavit sworn by 2/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.9904 of 2026 the petitioner indicates that writ petition has been filed only for some publicity. It is stated by the respondents that the project has already been completed and the road has already been laid. Therefore, the prayer of the petitioner to straighten the road and avoid zigzag turnings is nothing but a clear publicity styled in the name of public interest litigation. We do not find any merit in this writ petition. 3. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
