... Petitioner. Adv. Sourav Sarkar,
... for the Petitioner. Adv. Nilay Chakraborty, Adv. Namrata Das …for the State.
The petitioner is in custody for more than 200 days and prays for bail primarily on the ground that grounds of arrest were not communicated to him at the time of his arrest and the search and seizure were not videographed.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a driver by profession and was called to the police station following which he was arrested and recovery made.
Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. I have considered the material on record. Contraband substance of commercial quantity has been recovered from the possession of the petitioner pursuant to his leading statement. Grounds of arrest have been communicated to the petitioner.
2 In view of statutory restrictions laid down under Section 37 of the NDPS Act, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage. CRM (NDPS) 591 of 2025 is disposed of.
Case Diary be returned. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
