The grievance of the petitioner is that the affairs of the Magrahat College are not being conducted in accordance with law and there have been serious and severe instances of financial defalcation by errant employees of the College. 3. For such purpose, the petitioner, a retired employee of the College had written several letters complaining about the situation to the concerned authorities (Chancellor of the University) sometime in 2025. 4. The Chancellor had also sought for a report, from the Vice Chancellor regarding the action taken, pursuant to such complaint. 5. Mr. Chatterjee, learned Advocate appearing for the University, submits that though no investigation has been conducted as of now, the University is in the process of conducting the investigation. Thus, I direct the Vice Chancellor of the University to conduct an enquiry into the affairs of the Magrahat College through a duly authorized person who shall have expertise in accounting and financial matters. 7. Let such person/persons be appointed and investigation conducted by 30.06.2026. 8. The College, the Principal as well as the petitioner will render all assistance to the investigating authority as and when sought for. 9. Upon completion of the investigation, a report shall be filed with the Vice Chancellor who shall be at liberty to take appropriate steps in consonance with the report. 10. The petitioner will be at liberty to apply to the Vice Chancellor to obtain a report. 11. Depending on the result of the investigation/enquiry, the petitioner and/or the concerned authority will have their remedies in law to take steps against the errant individuals, if any. 12. With the directions afore-stated, WPA 20780 of 2025 is disposed of without any order as to costs. 13.
