Issue a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent to release the petitioner on parole for a period of 04 weeks in FIR No. 1004/2006 ,” 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner seeks parole for a period of four weeks on account of the serious medical condition of his wife, who was diagnosed with CSF rhinorrhoea and idiopathic intracranial hypertension and underwent endoscopic endonasal repair of CSF rhinorrhoea with multilayer skull base reconstruction on 01.09.2026. The petitioner has two sons, aged about 19 years and 9 years respectively, and there is no other person available to adequately take care for his wife during the post-operative period. 4. It is further submitted that the petitioner has previously availed parole and duly surrendered within the prescribed time without misusing the liberty granted to him, and that his conduct in prison has remained satisfactory. 5. Petitioner’s case falls within Rule 1208(i) of the Delhi Prison Rules, 2018, which permits consideration of parole on the ground of serious illness of a family member. It is accordingly submitted that, in view of the medical condition of the petitioner's wife and the circumstances pleaded, the petitioner may be granted parole for a period of four weeks. 6. Having considered the overall facts and circumstances, and in view of the fact that a period of six months has elapsed since the petitioner's earlier parole, the Court is of the view that the petitioner may be considered for release on parole for a period of four weeks. 7. The petitioner is accordingly directed to be released on parole for a period of 4 weeks from the date of his release subject to the same conditions as were imposed earlier when he was released on parole. 8.
