Serial No.116 Supplementary cause list HIGH COURT OF JAMMU & KASHMIR AND LADAKH AT SRINAGAR … WP(C) No.1459/2026 Mohammad Ashraf ……...Petitioner(s) Through: Mr. Hussain Rashid, Advocate Versus Union Territory of J and K and Others ……Respondent(s) Through: CORAM: HON’BLE MS JUSTICE MOKSHA KHAJURIA KAZMI, JUDGE ORDER 03.07.2026 Through the medium of instant petition, the petitioner has sought the following relief:– I) A direction be issued upon the respondents to issue revenue extracts with regard to land bearing khasra No. 1017/801 in favour of petitioner. 1. The petitioner claims to be the owner of a patch of land falling under Khasra No. 1017/801 and according to him, despite having approached the respondents for grant of extract of revenue records in respect of property in question, the same has not been provided to him. 2. As per Rule 34 of the Land Revenue Rules, 1969, the Tehsildar/Naib Tehsildar concerned upon an application is duty bound to direct the Patwari concerned to allow the applicant to inspect the revenue records and get certified extracts of the same on payment of requisite charges. Thus, it is the statutory duty of the respondents to provide certified copies/extracts of the revenue record pertaining to properties of which the petitioner claims to be a power of attorney holder. 3. In view of the above position of law, the petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to provide copies of the extracts of revenue record of the properties of which the petitioner is registered owner upon payment of requisite fee. 4. The petition stands disposed of accordingly. (MOKSHA KHAJURIA KAZMI) JUDGE Srinagar 03.07.2026 “Shaista”
