The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had purchased house site properties in Survey No. 6/11, Thiruparankundram Taluk, Madurai District, by way of a registered sale deed in Document No. 2489 of 2010 dated 22.03.2010, to an extent of 10 cents, and by a settlement deed in Document No. 994 of 2012 dated 01.02.2012, to an extent of 5½ cents. Further, the petitioner, along with another individual, namely Maayan, 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.(MD)No.7326 of 2026 had also purchased lands to an extent of 52½ cents out of the total extent of 75 cents. After such purchase, the petitioner has been in possession and enjoyment of the property. Due to financial constraints, the petitioner intended to avail a loan by mortgaging the aforesaid property with a private bank. In this regard, the bank required the petitioner to produce a patta in his favour after sub-division of the said lands. Accordingly, the petitioner submitted an application to the second respondent seeking sub-division and transfer of patta in his favour and also paid the requisite fee. However, the second respondent rejected the same by the impugned order dated 14.08.2024. 3. Heard the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. 4. The rejection order, upon perusal, is found to be a one-line, non- speaking order. Accordingly, the impugned order is quashed. This Court directs the respondents to reconsider the application and pass a reasoned and speaking order in accordance with law within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.(MD)No.7326 of 2026 5.
