Learned Additional Government Advocates is directed to take notice for both the respondents.
2. It is the contention of the petitioners that petitioner's father, late Sri.Munikrishnappa, filed an application in Form No.53 on 18.11.1999 seeking regularization of unauthorized occupation of 3 acres 15 guntas of land in

Sy.No.53 of Savakanahalli Village, Kasaba Hobli, Devanalli Taluk. However, the name of the petitioner's father was not entered in the revenue records. Therefore, the prayer in the writ of petition is to issue a writ of mandamus directing respondent No.2-Tahsildar, Devanahalli Taluk to enter the name of the petitioner's father in the revenue records and thereafter consider entering the name of the petitioners who are legal the heirs of late Sri.Munikrishnappa in the revenue records.

Having regard to the contentions raised in the writ petition and submission of the learned counsel for the petitioners, this Court is of the considered opinion that respondent No.2-Tahsildar was duty bound to place the application filed by the petitioner's father before the ‘Committee for Regularization of Unauthorized Occupation’ and the Committee was also duty bound to consider the application and pass necessary orders.
3. The writ petition stands disposed of with a specific direction to respondent No.2-Tahsildar, Devanahalli Taluk, to verify from the records as to whether such application filed by

the petitioners at Annexure-A dated 18.11.1999 is pending
consideration. If it is found that such application was indeed filed by the petitioner's father and the application is yet to be considered, the Tahsildar is directed to place before the Committee for regularisation of unauthorised occupation, the applications along with his recommendation within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Thereafter, the Committee shall consider the application and pass necessary orders in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible and at any rate within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
Ordered accordingly.
Learned Additional Government Advocate is permitted to file memo of appearance within a period of four weeks from today.
