This is an ofÏce reference. 2. This Court, vide order dated 04.06.2024, passed in MCRC No. 1279 of 2024, while allowing the bail of the applicant, namely, Rajesh Soni, had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months from the date of passing of the order, if there was no legal impediment. 3. Earlier on two occasions also, this Court had granted extension of time for compliance of the order dated 04.03.2024. KUNAL DEWANGAN Digitally signed by KUNAL DEWANGAN 2 4. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Bilaspur, District – Bilaspur (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 16.02.2026 has requested for grant of five months time for concluding the trial. 5. From perusal of the PUD, it transpires that warrants of arrest have been issued from time to time through the Nodal OfÏcer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Headquarters Bilaspur, to secure the presence of the accused, however, the prosecution has not been able to ensure the appearance of the accused and due to his continuous absence, delay has been caused in the disposal of the case. It further transpires that the present case has been received by transfer and was placed before the concerned Court for the first time on 12.02.2026. At present, due to the continuous absence of the accused Rajesh Soni, the prosecution evidence has not yet commenced. The examination of the prosecution witnesses remains to be recorded upon securing the presence of the accused. Therefore, it has been humbly requested that an additional period of five months be granted for the disposal of the case. 6. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of five months from today. 7. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction. 8.
