The petitioners, through the medium of this petition, seek direction to the respondents to complete the acquisition proceedings and make the award/order under the provisions of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 and the rules framed thereunder, in respect of land measuring 104 kanals 19 marlas under lying different khasra numbers situated at village Dhanmasta. 2. Learned senior counsel for the petitioners submits that preliminary notification was issued by the Collector on 08.01.2024 with regard to the acquisition of the aforesaid land for construction of Hewagon-Dhanmasta road from (Km 4 to Km 9), however, the respondents have not finalized the case of compensation allegedly for want of funds to be provided by the indenting department. 3. Learned senior counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners shall be satisfied in case the petition is disposed of at this stage with direction to the respondents to finalize the acquisition proceedings at the earliest. In support of his case, learned Senior Counsel for the petitioners has produced a Photostat copy of the communication No. CLA/SDMR/26/158-61 dated 02.02.2026, whereby the Collector, Land Acquisition, (SDM Ramsoo) has taken up the matter with the Executive Engineer PMGSY, Division Banihal for allotment of funds to the tune of Rs. 30.28 crores for completion of the acquisition proceedings. Copy of the communication produced by the learned Senior Counsel for the petitioners is taken on record. 5 WP(C) No. 287/2026 4. Learned counsel for the respondents who are present, has not resisted to the plea of disposal of the petition, at this stage, stating respondents are not averse to such a plea. 5. Having regard to the pleadings and submissions urged at the bar, the petition is disposed of at this stage with a direction to the respondents to complete the acquisition proceedings expeditiously, in accordance with the timeline provided under the applicable acquisition law. 6.
