The instant writ petition in the nature of habeas corpus is taken out for a direction to the opposite parties, more particularly, opposite party Nos.2 and 3 to take appropriate steps to rescue the minor daughter of the petitioner. 2. On receipt of written instruction received from Inspector-in- Charge, Talchua Marine Police Station in the district of Dhenkanal, Mr. Debashis Tripathy, learned Addl. Government Advocate, revealed that the police apprehended the accused and rescued the minor victim girl. The statement of the minor victim girl has been recorded under Section 180 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (in short, ‘BNSS’) by the IIC, Talchua Marine Police Station on 10.03.2026 and based on her statement, prayer has been made to the Court of NGN-cum-J.M.F.C., Rajnagar for addition of offence under Section 87/64 (2) (m) BNS read with Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. The statement of the victim girl has also been recorded under Section 183 of the BNSS on 10.03.2026. The victim has been produced before the Child Welfare Committee, Kendrapara (in short, “CWC”) and after proper counselling, the victim has been handed over to her mother. The accused being arrested, was forwarded to the Court on 10.03.2026 after observing all formalities. 3. In view of the above development, since the minor victim girl has already been rescued and after being produced before the CWC, Kendrapara has been handed over to her mother, this Court does not feel it appropriate to keep the instant writ petition pending as it would not subserve any fruitful purpose. 4.
