1. This is a petition under Section 29A(4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 read with Section 151 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 seeking extension of mandate of the learned Arbitrator Tribunal.
2. It is stated that in order to resolve the disputes arising between the parties, this Court had appointed learned sole arbitrator to arbitrate such disputes vide the order dated 19.09.2022 in arbitration petition bearing no. ARB.P. 871/2022. It is stated that on 21.08.2026, the learned arbitrator had passed a detailed order adjourning the matter to 23.09.2026.
3. It is stated that the mandate of the learned sole arbitrator has come to an end on 04.09.2026, hence the present petition has been filed.
4. Issue notice.
5. Notice is accepted by Mr. Adarsh Tripathi, learned counsel for the respondent who states that he has no objection in case the mandate is extended. This is a digitally signed order. 6. It is stated that the arbitral proceedings are at a stage of recording of evidence of the respondent’s witness.
7. Having regard thereto, it appears that the prayer for extension of 12 months is justifiable.
8. The period from 04.09.2026 till date is regularized. The mandate of the learned Arbitral Tribunal is extended to a further period of 12 months from date.
9. Accordingly, the petition is disposed of.
