By way of the present petition, the Petitioners are seeking quashing of FIR No. 584/2022 registered at Police Station Sangam Vihar, Delhi, for the offences punishable under Sections 323, 324, 341 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereinafter referred to as the ‘IPC’), and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom on the basis of the settlement arrived at between the parties. 7. Issue notice. Learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State. 8. The Petitioners and Respondent Nos. 2 and 3 are present before this Court and have been identified by their respective counsel as well as the Investigating Officer (‘IO’). 9. Briefly, the present FIR arose out of an altercation which took place on 31.08.2022 between members of the same family over payment of a water bill. It was alleged by Respondent No. 2/complainant that during the altercation, Petitioner No. 1 bit him on his hand and assaulted him, while Petitioner No. 3 hit Respondent No. 3 with a piece of brick on his head. Both Respondent Nos. 2 and 3 were medically examined and their injuries were opined to be simple in nature. Upon completion of investigation, the chargesheet was filed against the Petitioners under Sections 323, 324, 341 and 34 IPC. During the pendency of the proceedings, the parties amicably resolved their disputes vide Memorandum of Understanding dated 18.12.2025. 10. On a query made by this Court, Respondent Nos. 2 and 3, who have been identified by the IO, categorically state that they have entered into the This is a digitally signed order. Therefore, they have no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 11. In view of the fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather, the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in the interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment to quashing the FIR in question. 12. Accordingly, FIR No. 584/2022 registered at Police Station Sangam Vihar, Delhi, for the offences punishable under Sections 323, 324, 341 and 34 of the IPC, along with all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, is hereby quashed. 13. The present petition is disposed of. Pending application(s), if any, also stand disposed of. 14.
