It is submitted that the Applicant has paid/deposited the entire compensation amount in these matters. 3. Learned Counsel for the Respondent confirms this statement made on behalf of the Applicant. He further submits that the compensation amount deposited by the Applicant in this Court be paid to the Respondent along with accrued interest and the Respondent has no objection if the offence committed by the Applicant under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act is compounded. 4. In view thereof, the judgment and order dated 24.5.2023 9th October, 2026 905 CRIR 52 2025 passed by the Judicial Magistrate, First Class, Panaji in Criminal Case Nos.OA/558/2019/F and OA/557/2019/F and the judgment and order dated 29.9.2025 passed by the Sessions Judge, North, Goa, Merces in Criminal Appeal Nos.140/2024 and 141/2024 are quashed and set aside. Consequently, the offence committed by the Applicant under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act stands compounded. 5. The Registry is directed to remit an amount deposited by the Applicant to the Respondent along with accrued interest. 6. The Applicant shall pay Rs.10,000/- towards costs to the Goa State Legal Services Authority within a period of one week from today. 7. Criminal Revision Application stands disposed of. Pending Applications, if any, stand disposed of. 8. Stand over to 22.10.2026 for compliance. 9. This order will be digitally signed by the Private Secretary/Personal Assistant of this Court.
