Rakesh Kainthla, Judge The petitioner has filed the present petition for quashing of FIR No.359 of 2018, dated 21.7.2018, registered at Police Station, Sadar Una, District Una, H.P., for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 454, 379, 380 and 201 of 1 Whether reporters of Local Papers may be allowed to see the judgment? Yes. 2 2026:HHC:30946 the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the consequential proceedings arising out of the FIR based on a compromise effected between the parties. 2. It has been asserted that the matter has been compromised between the parties with the intervention of respectable persons of the area and family members of both the parties. The parties want to maintain cordial relations with each other and the informant does not want to proceed further with the matter after the compromise. Hence the petition. 3. The statement of the informant/victim Vijay Sharma was recorded on 02.07.2026, in which he stated that he had entered into a compromise with the accused voluntarily without any influence from any person and he does not want to proceed further with the matter after the compromise 4. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the records carefully. 5. This Court had already questioned the FIR registered for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 457, 380 of the IPC in Vikram Singh Vs. State of H.P. and others 2024:HHC:6100 and Anil Kumar Vs. State of H.P. and another 3 2026:HHC:30946 2023:HHC:10860. The offence punishable under Section 454 of IPC is less grave than an offence punishable under Section 457 of IPC and can be quashed as per the binding precedent. 6. In view of the above, the present petition is allowed, and FIR No.359 of 2018, dated 21.7.2018, registered at Police Station, Sadar Una, District Una, H.P., for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 454, 379, 380 and 201 of the IPC and consequential proceedings arising out of the FIR are ordered to be quashed. 7. Petition stands disposed of in the above terms, so also pending miscellaneous applications, if any. 8. Parties are permitted to produce a copy of this judgment, downloaded from the webpage of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh, before the authorities concerned, and the said authorities shall not insist on the production of a certified copy, but if required, may verify the passing of the order from the Website of the High Court.
