This hearing has been done through hybrid mode. 2. By way of the present petition, the Petitioner is seeking quashing of FIR No. 75/2021, registered at Police Station Alipur, Delhi, under Sections 354 and 354D of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereinafter referred to as the ‘IPC’), wherein the chargesheet has been filed under Sections 354, 354D and 506 IPC, and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom on the basis of the settlement arrived at between the parties. 3. Issue Notice. Learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State. 4. The Petitioner and Respondent No. 2 are present before this Court and have been identified by their respective counsel as well as the Investigating Officer (‘IO’). This is a digitally signed order. Briefly stated, the present FIR came to be registered on 19.02.2021 at Police Station Alipur on the complaint of Respondent No. 2, who alleged that the Petitioner had been following and harassing her and had threatened her with abduction. The complaint further records that, pursuant to such threat, the brother of Respondent No. 2 confronted the Petitioner on 14.02.2021, resulting in an altercation between them. The FIR was initially registered under Sections 354 and 354D IPC and, upon completion of investigation, the chargesheet was filed under Sections 354, 354D and 506 IPC. During the pendency of the proceedings, the parties amicably settled their disputes vide Memorandum of Settlement cum Understanding dated 23.03.2026. 6. Respondent No. 2 has stated that she has amicably compromised the matter with the Petitioner, voluntarily and without any pressure, coercion or threat from any corner. It is also stated that the Petitioner suffered disability due to the incident dated 14.02.2021 and is unable to walk properly. Both parties have agreed and affirmed that there is no dispute or controversy remaining between them and that neither party shall initiate any further action against the other in future. 7. On a query made by this Court, Respondent No. 2, who has been identified by the Investigating Officer, has categorically stated that she has entered into the compromise vide Memorandum of Settlement cum Understanding dated 23.03.2026, out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Therefore, she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 8. In view of the fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would This is a digitally signed order. It would thus be in the interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment to quashing the FIR in question. 9. Accordingly, FIR No. 75/2021 registered at Police Station Alipur, Delhi, under Sections 354 and 354D IPC, along with the chargesheet filed under Sections 354, 354D and 506 IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, is hereby quashed. 10. The present petition is disposed of. Pending application(s), if any, also stand disposed of. 11. A copy of the order be communicated to the concerned Trial Court for necessary action and compliance. 12. The order be uploaded on the website forthwith.
