An ejectment pe&&on under Sec&on 13 of the East Punjab Urban Rent Restric&on Act, filed by the landlord – respondent herein was allowed by learned Rent Controller, Rupnagar on 01.09.2025 against which the present pe&&oner – tenant filed an appeal on 30.09.2025. Along with the appeal, an applica&on was moved to stay the opera&on of the impugned order for ejectment. Though, the appearance on behalf of the landlord was made on the very next date of hearing i.e. 08.10.2025, but by way of a cryp&c order dated 26.02.2026, the appellate authority has dismissed the applica&on for stay without giving any reason. 2. Assailing the aforesaid order, learned counsel submits that the appeal is pending before the Appellate Authority for 30.03.2026 for arguments on merits and that the pe&&oner never sought any adjournment from the Appellate Court and therefore, &ll the pendency of the appeal, the ejectment order is liable to be stayed. 3. Without issuing any no&ce to the respondent, the present revision pe&&on is hereby disposed of with the direc&on to the concerned Appellate Authority to hear the arguments on merits on the appeal on 30.03.2026 i.e. the date already fixed or within next one month posi&vely.
