IN THE HIGH COURT OF HIMACHAL PRADESH, SHIMLA CWP No. 12676 of 2026 Decided on: 28.07.2026 Ajay Sharma and others …….Petitioners Versus State of Himachal Pradesh and another … Respondents Coram Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ajay Mohan Goel, Judge. Whether approved for reporting?1 _____________________________________________________ For the petitioners : Mr. Prantap Sharma, Advocate. For the respondents : Mr. Pushpender Jaswal, Additional Advocate General. Ajay Mohan Goel, Judge (Oral) In light of the fact that a joint petition has been filed on behalf of 33 petitioners, who have not been appointed on contract basis in terms of the same order, this Court is of the considered view that a joint petition on their behalf is not maintainable. The petitioners, who may be having a common cause, that is to say who all have been appointed on contract basis vide a common order, may approach the Court by way of a common petition but a joint petition on behalf of the petitioners, who all have been appointed vide different orders is not maintainable. Accordingly, this petition, as prayed for, is permitted to be withdrawn, with liberty to the petitioners to approach the Court afresh on the same cause as observed herein above. Pending miscellaneous application(s), if any, also stand disposed of accordingly. (Ajay Mohan Goel) Judge July 28, 2026 (narender) 1 Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment?
