By the way of the present petition the petitioner is seeking quashing of FIR No. 0992/2025, registered at Police Station Burari, Delhi, for the offences punishable under Sections 332(c)/115(2)/74/79/3(5) Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (hereinafter referred to as the ‘BNS’), and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom on the basis of the settlement arrived at between the parties. 4. Issue notice. The learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State. This is a digitally signed order. The petitioner is present before this Court and has been identified by their counsel and Investigating Officer. 6. Briefly stated, the facts of the case are that the FIR arose out of an alleged incident involving a stray dog bite, pursuant to which the petitioner, being upset and acting out of anger and misunderstanding, lodged the complaint. The petitioner states that the accused persons were unknown to her and that she does not remember their faces or any identifying particulars. 7. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, with the passage of time, the petitioner has reconsidered the matter and does not wish to pursue the allegations any further. It is further submitted that the petitioner has voluntarily executed a No Objection Certificate (NOC), expressing her consent to the quashing of the FIR and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom. 8. In view of the aforesaid circumstances, particularly the nature of the dispute, the stand of the complainant/petitioner and her voluntary consent to the quashing of the proceedings, no useful purpose would be served in permitting the criminal proceedings to continue. Continuation of the proceedings in the aforesaid circumstances would not advance the cause of justice. 9. Accordingly, FIR No. 0992/2025, registered at Police Station Burari, Delhi, for the offences punishable under Sections 332(c)/115(2)/74/79/3(5) of BNS, 2023 along with all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, is hereby quashed.
