Singh Bandral, Advocate V/s Anil Kumar Singh and others ….Respondent(s) Through :- Ms. Monika Thakur, Assisting Counsel vice Mr. Ravinder Gupta, AAG Coram: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE WASIM SADIQ NARGAL, JUDGE ORDER 13.07.2026 1. The instant contempt petition arises out of order passed by this Court dated 12.05.2026 in WP(C) No. 1334/2026, by virtue of which the writ petition preferred by the petitioner was disposed of by directing the respondents to release the outstanding amount in the following manner : “4. In the facts and circumstances of the case, the Court is of the opinion that the matter can be disposed of even at this stage by passing of such appropriate orders which are not likely to prejudice the interests of the respondents. Accordingly, the instant petition is disposed of at this threshold stage with the direction to the respondents to treat the instant petition as representation of the petitioner and address the same on its facto legal basis by releasing the outstanding admitted liability, if any, in favour of the petitioner-Company within a period of six weeks.” 2. Since the aforesaid order was not complied within the period granted by this Court, the petitioner has filed the instant petition. 3. Issue notice, which is waived by Ms. Monika Thakur, learned counsel appearing vice Mr. Ravinder Gupta, learned AAG for the respondents. Learned Sr. No. 07 CCP(S) No. 198/2026 Page 2 of 2 counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents assures the Court that since there is an innocuous prayer, the order passed by this Court shall be complied with. 4. Since, the direction was only to the extent of treating the writ petition as representation and to address the same on its facto legal basis by releasing the outstanding admitted liability, if any, in favour of the petitioner within a stipulated period, which period has since elapsed and the order has not been complied with, this Court in the peculiar facts and circumstances of the case deems it appropriate to disposed of the instant contempt petition by extending the period of complying the aforesaid direction by two weeks. 5. In the light of the assurance extended by learned counsel for the respondents, no fruitful purpose would be served by keeping this contempt petition alive and accordingly, the same is disposed of by directing learned counsel for the respondents to comply the aforesaid order within the extended period of two weeks from today. 6. Accordingly, the proceedings in the contempt petition are closed. However, it is made clear that in case, if the order passed by this Court dated 12.05.2026 is not complied with within a period of two weeks from today, the petitioner will be at liberty to revive the present contempt petition, and in that eventuality, this Court will be constrained to take coercive measures against the respondents.
