BY THE PP, ASSAM Advocate for the Petitioner : MR. S ISLAM, A R MONDAL,J A MONDAL Advocate for the Respondent : PP, ASSAM, BEFORE HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE PARTHIVJYOTI SAIKIA ORDER 08.01.2026 Heard Mr. S Islam, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. K. K. Porasor, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, Assam. This is an application under Section 482 of the BNSS, 2023 in respect of Dimakuchi P.S. Case No. 67/2025. Police intercepted a vehicle which was carrying 40 drums of petroleum products. The driver of the vehicle could not produce any documents to justify his possession of so much of petroleum products. Page No.# 2/2 The informant suspected that the petroleum products were stolen properties. Even the driver of the vehicle had confessed before Police that he was transporting the petroleum products from Bhutan. The present petitioner seeking anticipatory bail from this court could not establish any satisfactory case in his favour. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor has submitted that a group of people is involved in this illegal business of sell as well as transporting of petroleum products. I have considered the submission made by the learned counsel of both sides. Today, after hearing both sides, this court finds that no grounds for granting anticipatory bail to the present pettier. This is a case where a thorough police investigation is necessary. For the aforesaid reasons, the bail application of the petitioner is rejected and disposed of accordingly. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
