HIGH COURT OF JAMMU & KASHMIR AND LADAKH AT SRINAGAR WP(C) 1499/2026 CM(3930/2026). Mohammad Shafi Dar. …Applicant(s)/Petitioner(s) Through: Mr. Bhat Khursheed, Advocate. VERSUS Neelofar Begum And Others. …Respondent(s) Through: CORAM: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE RAHUL BHARTI, JUDGE. ORDER 04.07.2026 01. This Court has no jurisdiction under article 226 of the Constitution of India to pass directions unto the civil/criminal courts for expediting the hearing of a civil/criminal case pending before a given Court, as the only available jurisdiction in this context is traceable to article 227 of the Constitution of India vesting supervisory jurisdiction in this Court vis-à-vis the Courts and Tribunals. 02. Therefore, this writ petition under article 226 of the Constitution of India for the purpose of seeking the relief as prayed for therein is misconceived and hence dismissed with liberty in favour of the petitioner to avail appropriate legal remedy.
