2026:JHHC:18042-DB 1 IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI Cr.M.P. No. 1596 of 2026 Jhagru Bediya ….. Petitioner Versus The State of Jharkhand ….. Opp. Party --------- CORAM: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE RONGON MUKHOPADHYAY HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE PRADEEP KUMAR SRIVASTAVA -------- For the Petitioner : Mr. Jitendra S. Singh, Advocate. For the State : A.C. to Mr. Pankaj Kumar, P.P. --------- Order No. 02/Dated: 18th June, 2026 1. Heard Mr. Jitendra S. Singh, learned Senior counsel for the petitioner and learned A.C. to P.P. 2. This application has been preferred by the petitioner for modification of the order dated 23.04.2026 passed in Cr.M.P. No. 1099 of 2026. 3. The petitioner was granted anticipatory bail in Cr.A.(DB) No. 214 of 2026 vide order dated 17.03.2026 with a direction to surrender before the learned trial court within a period of four weeks. However, since, there was a typographical error in the order, an application for modification was preferred being Cr.M.P. No. 1099 of 2026, in which order was passed on 23.04.2026 rectifying the error and consequently, extending the period of surrender of the petitioner for a further period of two weeks. 4. However, it has been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that due to late communication of the order dated 23.04.2026 passed in Cr.M.P. No. 1099 of 2026, the petitioner could 2026:JHHC:18042-DB 2 not surrender within the time specified and therefore, this application has been preferred for modification of the said order. 5. In view of the above and there being sufficient reasons for modifying the order dated 23.04.2026 passed in Cr.M.P. No. 1099 of 2026, the order is modified by extending the period of surrender of the petitioner for a further two weeks from today. 6. This application stands disposed of. 7. Let a copy of order be sent through FAX to the concerned trial court immediately. (Rongon Mukhopadhyay, J.) (Pradeep Kumar Srivastava, J.) June 18, 2026 Sunil/ Uploaded on 22.06.2026
