This is an ofÏce reference. 2. This Court, vide order dated 21.06.2023, passed in MCRC No. 3567 of 2023, while rejecting the bail of the petitioners, namely, Anand Salma and Darshan Singh, had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of the order, if there was no legal impediment. 3. Earlier on three occasions also, this Court had granted extension of time for compliance of the order dated 21.06.2023. KUNAL DEWANGAN Digitally signed by KUNAL DEWANGAN 2 4. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Bilaspur, District – Bilaspur (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 05.02.2026 has requested for grant of three months time for concluding the trial. 5. It transpires from perusal of the PUD, that in the present case, the case is presently fixed for prosecution evidence. Summons/bailable warrants for securing the presence of witnesses are issued through the Nodal OfÏcer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Headquarters Bilaspur, however, due to the non-appearance of witnesses, unnecessary delay is being caused in the proceedings of the case. The witnesses often fail to appear before the Court in a timely manner. It is further submitted that a total of 217 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 are presently pending before the trial Court, out of which 11 cases are time-bound matters and continuous efforts are being made for their disposal. Therefore, for the final disposal of the present case, a period of three months is required. 6. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of three months from today. 7. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction. 8.
