The petitioners are the landowners whose land was acquired by the respondent no.1 for coal mining activities. In pursuance of such acquisition, the petitioners had submitted the representations dated 20.07.2026 and 21.09.2026 for grant of benefits under the Rehabilitation and Resettlement Policy, 2012 (for short, ‘R & R Policy, 2012’). The aforesaid representations are at Record Page Nos.108 and 109A, Annexure-7. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the aforesaid representations are not yet decided by the respondents, more particularly, by the respondent no.2. 4. In view of above, we dispose of the present writ petition with a direction to the respondent no.2 to decide the aforesaid representations for grant of benefits under the R & R Policy, 2012 on its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from today and particularly in view of the judgment passed by this Court on 06.08.2026 in Writ Petition No.6869 of 2025 as also in view of the Standard Operating Procedure adopted by the Western Coalfields Limited on 30.01.2026. 2026:BHC-NAG:13570-DB 2 WP8087-26.odt 5.
