1. This is an ofÏce reference.
2. This Court, vide order dated 20.12.2024, passed in MCRC No. 7874 of 2024, while allowing the bail of the applicant, namely, Smt. Sarla, had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months, if there was no legal impediment.
3. Earlier on two occasions also, this Court had granted extension of KUNAL DEWANGAN Digitally signed by KUNAL DEWANGAN
2 time for compliance of the order dated 20.12.2024.
4. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Bastar at Jagdalpur, District – Bastar vide his request letter dated 30.01.2026 has requested for grant of three months time for concluding the trial.
5. It transpires from perusal of the PUD, that the case was fixed for recording the statement of the accused on 27.01.2026, however, on the said date, the accused Smt. Sarla remained absent and no counsel appeared on her behalf. Despite repeated calls, she failed to appear before that Court, due to which her statement could not be recorded and a warrant of arrest has been issued to secure her presence. Hence, a maximum period of three months is required for conclusion of the trial. Hence, he prays for grant of three months time for concluding the trial.
6. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is
directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of three months from today.
7. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction.
8. Registry is directed to send a certified copy of this order to the trial Court concerned for necessary information and compliance. Sd/-
