1. This hearing has been done through hybrid mode.

By the way of the present petition the petitioner is seeking quashing of FIR No. 228/2018, registered at Police Station Karol Bagh, for the offences punishable under Sections 307/34 Indian Penal Code,1860 (hereinafter referred to as the ‘IPC’), and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom on the basis of the settlement arrived at between the parties.
3. Issue notice. The learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State.
4. The petitioner and respondents no. 2 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsel and Investigating Officer.

Brief facts of the case are that respondent No. 2 lodged a complaint against the petitioner, which was converted into FIR No. 228/2018. The This is a digitally signed order. charge sheet was thereafter filed, and the matter is pending trial at the stage of prosecution evidence. The parties, being family members, have amicably settled their disputes with the intervention of their family members, relatives and well-wishers.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the dispute between the petitioner and Respondent No. 2 has been amicably settled vide Settlement Agreements dated 23.03.2026.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 who has been identified by the IO, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise, vide Settlement Agreements dated 23.03.2026, out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Therefore, she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed.

In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question.
9. Accordingly, FIR No. 228/2018, registered at Police Station Karol Bagh, Delhi, for the offences punishable under Sections 307 and 34 of the IPC, 1860, along with all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, is hereby quashed.
10. The present petition is disposed of. Pending application(s), if any, also stand(s) disposed of.
11. Copy of the order be communicated to the concerned Trial Court for necessary action and compliance. This is a digitally signed order.
