KAMAL ORAL JUDGMENT Memo dated 10.03.2025 filed by learned counsel for respondent-CBI reads as under: 1. Whereas, Non-bailable Warrant (NBW) was issued by this Hon'ble High Court of Karnataka against Sri.S.Karunagaran, S/o P.Subramani, (Appellant), who is charged with offences punishable under Sections 120-B, 420, 468 and 471 of IPC and under Section 13(1)(d) r/w 13(2) of the P.C. Act, to arrest him and produce him before this Hon'ble Court on 10.03.2026 at 10.30 a.m. 2. Whereas, efforts were made to trace the warrantee Shri.S.Karunagaran, S/o P.Subramani. It is learnt that Shri.S.Karunagaran has expired before 3-4 years. Shri.S.K.Vinoth, son of Shri.Karunagaran and Smt.Padmavathy, wife of Shri.S.Karunagaran were contacted. They informed that Shri.Karunagaran had left his family long back and the son also informed that he had received a telephonic call during September 2021 regarding death of his father at Chennai but they have not procured any death certificate in this regard. Since Shri.Karunagaran had abandoned his family, they had no information about his whereabouts. 3. Whereas, further efforts were made at Chennai as per the information collected from his son and wife. It was informed by Mrs.Ragini, sister of Shri.Karunagaran that Shri.Karunagaran died in the year 2022/2023. Information have been sought from Hospital Superintendent, Govt., District Headquarter Hospital, Tambaram, Chennai regarding the details of death of Shri.Karunagaran and reply is awaited. - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:20590 CRL.A No. 123 of 2012 4) Therefore, the said NBW couldn't be executed and returned herewith in original. 2. Learned counsel for respondent-CBI reports the death of the appellant.
