The instant petition is for the following reliefs:- “a) Issue an appropriate writ, order or direction, including a writ in the nature of Mandamus, directing Respondent Nos. 1 to 4 to forthwith undertake an objective assessment of the threat perception faced by the Petitioner, her husband and their minor children and to provide adequate and effective police protection commensurate with the assessed threat; b) Direct Respondent Nos. 1 to 4 to consider and act upon the complaints/representations dated 20.07.2026 and 23.07.2026 in accordance with law and to take appropriate preventive and/or legal action on the basis of the material disclosed therein; This is a digitally signed order. The Order is downloaded from the DHC Server on 05/09/2026 at 10:49:23 c) Direct Respondent Nos. 1 to 4 to ensure that no unlawful act, intimidation, trespass, threat or physical interference is caused to the Petitioner, her husband or their minor children by Respondent No. 4 or any person acting at her instance; d) Direct' the concerned police authorities to ensure regular patrolling/appropriate security arrangements in and around the residence/premises occupied by the Petitioner's family, commensurate with the threat assessment; e) Direct Respondent No. 5 and persons acting on her behalf to maintain peace and not to indulge in any unlawful act, intimidation, threat, trespass or interference with the life, liberty and personal safety of the Petitioner and her family, without prejudice to her right to pursue any lawful remedy before the competent forum.” 2. Heard learned counsel appearing on behalf of the parties. 3. It appears that the petitioner has a grievance against respondent no.5, who happened to be the ex-wife of the petitioner’s present husband. The husband of the present petitioner is a sitting member of Parliament. It is stated that that respondent no.5 is creating nuisance for the petitioner. The petitioner seems to have approached the concerned SHO. 4. Let the concerned SHO to look into the petitioner’s grievance. In any case, any cognizable office has taken place, let appropriate steps be taken accordingly. 5. Even otherwise, the petitioner shall be at liberty to file a private complaint or to seek injunction from the Court of competent jurisdiction. 6. With these observations, the instant petition, at this stage, stands disposed of. 7. All rights and contentions are left open.
