This Writ Petition is filed seeking to declare the inaction of the respondents, particularly the 2nd respondent, in not considering and passing orders on the representations dated 19.01.2026, 23.02.2026, and 26.02.2026 submitted by the petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment, despite favorable recommendations made by Respondent Nos.3 and 4, as illegal and arbitrary. 2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader for the respondents. 3. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is the wife of late Sri Basikinda Venkata Ramana, S/o. Narayana Swami, who died on 30.08.2015 while working as a subordinate in the office of the Tahsildar, Ananthapuram District. After the demise of her husband, the petitioner submitted an application seeking compassionate appointment to a suitable post. It is submitted that the said application was duly considered by the 4th respondent, and thereafter, the 3rd respondent also examined the matter and forwarded the proposals to the 2nd respondent, who is the competent authority to consider and grant compassionate appointment. It is further stated that the petitioner has submitted representations dated 19.01.2026, 23.02.2026, and 26.02.2026 requesting the 2nd respondent to consider her case. However, despite receipt of the proposals and the repeated representations made by the petitioner, the 2nd respondent has neither considered the same nor passed any orders till date. Aggrieved by such inaction, the present writ petition is filed. 4. Considering the submissions made, and having regard to the fact that the proposals have already been forwarded to the 2nd respondent by the respondent Nos.3 and 4, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, deems it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the case of the petitioner for compassionate appointment, in accordance with the applicable rules, and to pass appropriate orders on the representations dated 19.01.2026, 23.02.2026, and 26.02.2026, within a period of three (03) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
