A very short controversy is involved in the matter. The petitioner is seeking a direction to the respondents for payment of wages @ Rs. 225/- per day in terms of SRO 460 of 2017 dated 20th October, 2017 and thereafter @ Rs. 311/- per day in terms of SRO 513 of 2022 dated 12th October, 2022, from the date said SROs have been made applicable. 03. To get the minimum wages is a basic human right. After extracting work, the employer is duty bound to pay the minimum statutory wages fixed in terms of the relevant rules/SROs. Therefore, with the consent of the learned counsel for the petitioner, the matter is taken up on board and is accordingly, disposed of with a direction to the respondents to continue to pay duly earned wages in favour of the petitioner as per the minimum wages in vogue and also calculate and pay arrears of wages as were applicable from time to time in terms of SRO 460 of 2017 dated 20th October, 2017 and SRO 513 of 2022 dated 12th October, 2022, from the date said SROs have been made applicable. 04. Let the aforesaid exercise be completed expeditiously, preferably within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. 05. Writ petition is accordingly disposed of along with connected applications in the manner indicated above.
