Mr.S.Gopinathan, learned Standing counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 12719 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 5 2.With the consent of the learned Standing counsel for the respondents, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 3.The petitioner has filed the above writ petition seeking a mandamus to the second respondent herein to consider and pass orders on the representations of the petitioners dated 28.02.2026 to regularize the services of the petitioners as Drivers with effect from 13.12.1995 as per the Resolution No. 2984 /95 dated 13.12.1995 of the Greater Chennai Corporation and the Ratification Order issued in G.O. Ms. No 67 Municipal Administration and Water supplies (Ma.Na.3) Department dated 24.04.1998, and in the light of the Judgement in W.P.No.6227 / 2022 and 25450 / 2021 dated 19.03.2025 together with all consequential service and monetary benefits, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 4.The case of the petitioners is that they were appointed through Employment Exchange as Drivers in the year 1993 and their services have been regularized in the year 1998. The grievance of the petitioners is that though the 1st respondent, vide its Resolution dated 13.12.1995, granted regularization, the same is yet to be implemented. The 3rd respondent has also sent a proposal as early as on 18.09.2018, but no orders have been passed. Hence, the petitioners were constrained to file the above writ petition for the aforesaid relief. 5.Heard the learned Standing counsel for the respondents who fairly conceded that the respondents may be directed to consider the petitioners’ representation on merits. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 12719 of 2026 __________ Page4 of 5 6.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the respondents to consider and dispose of the petitioners’ representation dated 28.02.2026, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
