O R D E R 13-03-2026 [1] Heard Mrs. N. Savitri, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners as Legal Aid Counsel. [2] By the present petition, the petitioners are praying for directions to the respondents to pay a sum of Rs. 68,00,000/- as compensation to the petitioners for the lost and destruction of their entire house and machinery during the Manipur violence and to consider the representation dated 11-08- 2025 addressed to the Commissioner (Home), Government of Manipur within a time bound period. [3] Mr. Niranjan Sanasam, learned Government Advocate for the State respondents, submits that the petitioners have submitted the representation not in the format prescribed in this regard and during the course of hearing, he undertakes to handover a copy of the prescribed format to the learned counsel for the petitioners. [4] Mrs. N. Savitri, learned counsel for the petitioners, submits that the writ petition may be disposed of at this stage by directing the

respondents to dispose of the pending representation dated 11-08-2025 addressed to the Deputy Commissioner (Home), Government of Manipur. [5] Mr. Niranjan Sanasam, learned Government Advocate for the State respondents, submits that the representation may be in the prescribed format. [6] Recording the submissions made at the Bar, the present writ petition is disposed of by giving liberty to the petitioners to submit a representation in the prescribed format before the Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam. The petitioners are permitted to submit a new representation to the Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam in the prescribed format within a period of one week and the competent authority shall consider the new representation and also the contents of the earlier representation dated 11-08-2025 and pass a speaking order as per rules and admissible scheme within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a fresh representation from the petitioners. [7] It is made clear that this Court does not express any opinion on the merit of the case.
