The case of the petitioner is that he joined the service as Grade II police in the year 1988 and had served in the Department for more than 33 years with unblemished records and is presently, holding the post of Special Sub Inspector of Police. According to the petitioner, a false case was foisted against him in Crime No.898 of 2020, on the file of Tiruppur Central Police Station, Tiruppur, which ended in departmental proceedings in P.R.No.42 of 2021. The petitioner would submit that during the departmental enquiry, the respondents had failed to consider the statement given by a key witness inter alia exonerating him from the crime, but had mechanically issued the impugned order dated 17.12.2024, imposing punishment of removal from service. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents on instructions would submit that the petitioner had preferred a revision before the Director General of Police, the first respondent herein, challenging the very same order, which is impugned herein. 4. Considering the fact that the impugned order which is now under challenge in the present writ petition, is the subject matter of revision before the Director General of Police, this Court is dismissing the above writ petition holding that the petitioner had already invoked the alternate remedy by way of revision. However, this Court directs the first respondent to dispose of the revision filed by the petitioner, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. No costs.
