… Petitioner(s)
Ms. Shreyeta Mitra
… for the Petitioner(s)
Mr. Anowar Hossain Mr. Raju Mondal
… for the State-respondent(s)
Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was on bail and one absent petition was filed by the learned advocate on 22.12.2025. Thereafter, no steps were taken on 14.01.2026, for which warrant of arrest was issued and the petitioner was taken into custody. Learned advocate for the State submits that the petitioner in a designed manner is trying to delay the case. Having considered the gravity of the offence and the fact that the petitioner is not making himself available regularly before the trial court, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail at this stage. Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.
2 The petitioner would be at liberty to approach this court after the evidence of the victim is over. Accordingly, CRM (M) 667 of 2026 is dismissed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon’ble High Court, Calcutta. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
