Judgment / Order 10/02/2026
1. The matter comes upon an application No. 01/2026.
2.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that Smt. Seema Bulchandani filed a rent eviction petition in the year 2017. During the course of proceedings, she passed away. Therefore, an application has been filed before the learned Rent Tribunal seeking to bring the LRs on record, which is pending adjudication. Thus,
learned counsel for the petitioners prayed that the learned Rent Tribunal be directed to decide the Arent eviction petition as expeditiously as possible while duly considering the application for substitution of LRs on record.
[2026:RJ-JP:6265] (2 of 2) [CW-2058/2026]
3. Heard on the present application as well as on the writ petition.
4. For the reasons mentioned in the application, I.A. No. 1/2026 is allowed.
5. Considering the innocuous prayer made by the petitioner for directing the learned Rent Tribunal to decide the rent application for eviction pending since the year 2017 as early as possible, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the learned Rent Tribunal to decide the rent application as early as possible, keeping in view the provisions of Section 15(5) of the Rent Control Act, 2001, while duly considering the application for substitution of LRs on record.
6. Accordingly, the present Civil Writ Petition stands disposed of.
7. Pending application(s), if any, also stand disposed of.
