2. This IA has been preferred seeking suspension of the sentence of 1 year imprisonment and payment of fine of Rs.3,00,000/- and also for releasing the applicant/appellant on bail pending hearing of the connected appeal.
3. The law on the point is well settled that when the sentence is for a fixed period, the sentence is to be suspended unless there are exceptional reasons to deny such suspension.
4. In the instant case, the applicant/appellant has been sentenced only for a period of 1 year and she has been in detention for nearly 2 months now and having regard to the settled position of law, it is directed that the impugned sentence imposed vide Judgment and Order dated 17.05.2024 and the impugned Sentence Order dated 20.05.2024 shall stands suspended and the applicant/appellant shall be released on bail of Rs. 50,000/- with one surety of the like amount to the satisfaction of the learned Trial Court.
5. The IA stands allowed and disposed of accordingly.
