1. Instant writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been preferred by the petitioner seeking following reliefs :- (i) That, this Hon’ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the respondent No. 2- Collector, Surajpur District, to consider and decide the petitioner’s representation dated 29.12.2025 (for grant of land ownership rights / lease over Government land bearing Khasra No. 233 and 235, village Tukudand.
2 (ii) That any other order/relief which this Hon’ble Court may deem fit, proper, and just in the facts and circumstances of the present case may also kindly be awarded to the petitioner in the ends of justice.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is a poor, landless agriculturist belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (Gond) community and is a permanent resident of village Tukudand, Tehsil Pratappur, District Surajpur. He since his ancestor’s time, about 50 years ago, cleared forest and bushes over 0.60 acres of Government land bearing Khasra No. 233 & 235, situated at village Tukudand, Tehsil Pratappur, District Surajpur and cultivating the same to earn livelihood of his family. He further submits that the petitioner has filed an application (Annexure P-1) dated 29.12.2025 before Collector, Surajpur (C.G.) for grant of patta, but the same has not been decided yet, therefore, he prays that this petition may be disposed of directing Collector, Surajpur (respondent No. 2) to decide his application (Annexure P-1) dated 29.12.2025 expeditiously.

Learned counsel for the State submits that said application has been filed by the petitioner last month only, which is under consideration. He submits that the said application shall be decided in accordance with law.
4. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the material available on record.

As per application (Annexure P-1) dated 29.12.2025, the same was filed before the Collector, Surajpur 32 days prior from today, which cannot be termed as inordinate delay, hence, this Court is not inclined to any direction to the Collector, Surajpur with regard early disposal of the aforesaid application.

6. Accordingly, this petition stands disposed of.
7. However, petitioner is at liberty to approach before the Collector, Surajpur for redressal of his grievances. The petitioner is also at liberty to approach before this Court, if occasion arises. Sd/- (Naresh Kumar Chandravanshi) Judge amit
