Das … … for the State Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is an Indian citizen and has his residence at Bangaluru, Karnataka. Petitioner has a relation for which he was staying within the jurisdiction of Swarupnagar and was intercepted. Learned advocate appearing for the State has produced the seizure list which reflects that the petitioner was intercepted at the Indian border by the BSF. There were documents relating to voter identity card, PAN card issued through the office of the Government of India. However, there was photocopy of Bangladesh National identity card as well as photocopy of the Indian Passport. Having considered that the petitioner was intercepted at place which is within the vicinity of border outpost and the accusation against the petitioner is that his interception is at the border, I am of the view that this is not a fit case for granting bail. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner in CRM (M) 285 of 2026 is rejected. However, the learned Trial Court will expedite the process of law and take steps so that within a reasonable period of time, preferably within a period of 7 months, evidence of the prosecution witnesses are over.
