Crl.O.P.No.6624 of 2026 O R D E R This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking a direction to the respondent police not to harass the petitioner under the guise of enquiry on vexatious complaints. 2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is suffering from breast cancer and is undergoing treatment. The petitioner has produced medical records showing that she was admitted as an inpatient at Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, Coimbatore, from 21.01.2026 to 23.01.2026 and has since been discharged. Due to her admission and health condition, she could not appear before the respondent police for enquiry. It is now submitted that the petitioner is fit to appear before the respondent police, however, the only request is that she should not be harassed. 3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner has six previous cases, out of which five are similar in nature, involving cheating the public by luring them into investments and promising high returns. Crl.O.P.No.6624 of 2026 crores, along with 15 sovereigns of gold jewellery. The petitioner is also involved in a case of theft under Section 379 IPC. Despite several complaints and issuance of notice, the petitioner has not appeared. 3.1. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, further referring to the medical certificate submitted that the petitioner had earlier suffered from certain health issues and was subsequently admitted for a regular check-up. She has since been discharged and has been adviced to take regual medication. 4.
Considering the submissions and on perusal of the materials available on record, it is seen that six complaints are pending against the petitioner and that the petitioner had already received summons but failed to appear. The medical records of January 2026 confirm that she had only been adviced oral medication for three days and nothing more. 5. In view of the above, the reason given by the petitioner for not attending the enquiry is not accepted. The counsel for the petitioner on instructions, submitted that the petitioner is ready to appear before the 2nd respondent police on 23.03.2026 without fail and on further hearing dates. 3/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
