Satyabrata Biswas Vs. The State of West Bengal & Ors.
Mr. Satyabrata Biswas
Petitioner (in person)
Petitioner seeks a direction upon the authorities to trace and rescue Mr. Shibdas Banerji. In response to a query of the Court, petitioner who appears in person submits that there was obituary reference held by the High Court in respect of Mr. Shibdas Banerji who was a renowned advocate of this Hon’ble Court. He further submits that in response to a Right to Information Act, 2005 query, High Court responded by giving a different spelling of the name.
Spelling of the name of the person concerned may be different. Fact remains that the renowned advocate of the Calcutta High Court left this world and an obituary reference was held by the High
2 Court. Claim of the petitioner relates to the very same person.
In such circumstances, we are not minded to interfere under Article 226 of the Constitution of India.
WPA (H) 27 of 2026 is dismissed.
