home on 06.06.2022. This petition has been listed before us with a delay of 402 days in re-filing the petition. Though the learned counsel for the petitioner tries to explain this delay by stating that the petitioner was making efforts to trace out the whereabouts of his missing wife, we are not impressed with the said explanation. 4. In fact, Mr.Sanjay Lao, the learned Senior Counsel for the State, has handed over a copy of the Status Report dated 17.08.2026, which, inter alia, states that on being contacted, the wife of the petitioner has stated that she is residing at Lucknow of her own free will, without any force, pressure, threat or coercion. She has also expressed her unwillingness to reside with the petitioner or return to her matrimonial home. She has stated that she has invoked the jurisdiction of the competent Family Court seeking dissolution of her marriage. 5. Keeping in view the above, we find no merit in the present Writ Petition. The same along with the pending application is dismissed, leaving it open to the petitioner to avail of his alternate remedies in accordance with law.
