JUSTICE E.S.INDIRESH ORAL ORDER The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that he is not pressing I.A.No.1/2026 and I.A.No.2/2026. 2. Submission of the learned counsel is placed on record and accordingly, I.A.No.1/2026 and I.A.No.2/2026 are dismissed as not pressed. 3. It is contended by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner that, the petitioner has joined the respondent No.1-college to pursue LLB, under respondent No.2-University. It is contended by learned counsel that, the petitioner has passed two years Pre- university Job Oriented Course as equivalent to PUC or plus 2 course for the purpose of admission to 3 year LLB course as per Annexure-C, and in that view of the matter, - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:23360 WP No. 1782 of 2026 he relied upon the judgment of this Court in the case of Rakesh Shetty Vs. State of Karnataka and others in WP No.31737/2024, disposed of on 09.12.2024, and sought for a direction to the respondents to regularize the admission of the petitioner to the 3 year LLB course for the academic year 2025-26. 4. It is also submitted that, as per the interim order granted by this Court, the petitioner has taken First Semester Examination and the results are to be announced in the said examination. 5. Per contra, Smt. Saritha Kulkarni, learned counsel appearing for the respondent-University, submitted that, the petitioner has not studied the language as one of the subjects in the JOC course and therefore distinguished the case of the petitioner and accordingly sought for dismissal of the petition. 6. In light of the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the parties and on careful - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:23360 WP No. 1782 of 2026 consideration of Annexure B2, wherein, the petitioner has chosen languages Kannada and English and has further passed the examination conducted in JOC. Taking into consideration the Order dated 09.12.2024 passed by this Court in WP No.31737/2024, I am of the view that the petitioner is eligible to take the LLB course under the respondent No.2-University. Accordingly I pass the following: ORDER i) The writ petition is allowed. ii) The writ of mandamus is issued to the respondents to regularize the admission of the petitioner to the 3 year LLB course for the academic year 2025-26. iii) It is also made clear that, in terms of the interim order dated 22.01.2026, the petitioner has taken first semester of LLB course and has appeared in the examination. In that view of the matter, the - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:23360 WP No. 1782 of 2026 respondents are directed to announce the result of the petitioner. Ordered accordingly.
