By way of the instant petition, the petitioner seeks a direction upon the respondents to issue a fresh international passport in his favour by recording his correct date of birth as 20.02.2007, as reflected in his Birth Certificate issued by the competent authority, School Records, Aadhaar Card, and other supporting documents, after due verification and in accordance with law. 2. It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner passed the Secondary School Examination conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education in the year 2023 under Roll No. 1390751107, wherein his date of birth has been recorded as 20.02.2007. It is further submitted that the petitioner's date of birth is also recorded as 20.02.2007 in his Birth Certificate, Aadhaar Card, Ayushman Card, PAN Card, Driving Licence and other relevant documents issued by the competent authorities. 3. Learned counsel further submits that the petitioner had applied for issuance of a passport in the year 2023, when he was still a minor. However, the passport so issued erroneously reflects his date of birth as 20.02.2005 instead of 20.02.2007, despite the official records indicating otherwise. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would feel satisfied if the respondents are directed to consider his case for issuance of a fresh passport by recording his correct date of birth as 20.02.2007, on the basis of the Birth Certificate issued by the competent authority and other supporting documents, after due verification and in accordance with the applicable rules. 5. Mr. Shamsi, learned DSGI appearing for the respondents, is not averse to the aforesaid proposition. 6. In view of the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent Nos. 2 and 3 to consider the claim of the petitioner for issuance of a fresh passport by taking into consideration the Birth Certificate issued by the competent authority, wherein his date of birth has been recorded as 20.02.2007, along with other relevant records, after due verification and strictly in accordance with the applicable rules. The aforesaid exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date a copy of this order is made available to the respondents. 7. Disposed of.
