Adak ... for the State Dictated by Sujoy Paul, C.J. 1. Mr. Ayan Banerjee, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr. Nilotpal Chatterjee, learned counsel for the State, are present. 2. Learned counsel for both the parties at the outset fairly submitted that when this PIL was filed, the scheme relating to establishment of mobile medical units was in vogue. Certain deficiencies were pointed out in running the said units. However, it is fairly submitted that by now the said scheme has been discontinued and therefore any deficiency arising out of said scheme cannot be pointed out and for this purpose the PIL has rendered 2 infructuous. However, it is submitted that adequate medical facilities be directed to be provided to residents of Binpur-I, Binpur-II, Garhbeta-II and Nayagram and all other surrounding blocks in district Jhargram and Paschim Medinipur. 3. We deem it proper to direct the State to ensure adequate medical facilities be provided in the aforesaid areas. 4. With the aforesaid observation, the PIL is disposed of. (Sujoy Paul, C.J.)
