The present petition has been filed under Sections 29A(4) and 29A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 19961 seeking extension of the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator. 2. It is to be noted that the learned Sole Arbitrator was appointed by this Court vide order dated 22.10.2021. However, the arbitral record, including the pleadings, remained with the erstwhile arbitrator and was made available to the present learned Sole Arbitrator only in August 2023. 3. It is further submitted that both parties have led their evidence, the Respondent has concluded its final arguments and only rejoinder submissions by the Petitioner is remaining. 4. In view of the consensus between both the parties, the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator is extended for a further period of six months with effect from 01.08.2026 to conclude the arbitral proceedings and render the award. 8. The learned Sole Arbitrator shall endeavour to conclude the proceedings and render the Award within the extended period. 9. The present petition stands disposed of in the above terms.
