(Via VC) …for the Private Respondents 1. Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record. 2. Matter is heard in presence of the learned advocates representing the petitioner and the State respondents. Learned advocate representing the private respondents appears on virtual mode. 3. Learned advocate representing the State respondents has filed a communication dated 2nd March, 2026 of the Inspector-in-Charge, Berhampore Police Station and same is taken on record. 4. On perusal of the communication dated 2nd March, 2026, it appears that a complaint was lodged on 22nd June, 2025 by the petitioner against her in-laws and based on which a criminal proceeding was initiated being Berhampore P.S. Case No.1376 of 2025 dated 22nd June, 2025 under Sections 85/3(5) of BNS. [2] 5. It is also disclosed in the communication dated 2nd March, 2026 that in connection with Berhampore P.S. Case No.1376 of 2025 dated 22nd June, 2025, charge- sheet was submitted by the police authorities on 11th January, 2026 under Sections 85/3(5) of BNS. 6. Learned advocate representing the petitioner submits that in view of filing of charge-sheet one of the grievances ventilated in this writ petition stands redressed. 7. However, it is also submitted on behalf of the petitioner that streedhan is required to be recovered with the assistance of the concerned police authorities. 8. In view of filing of charge-sheet, no further order need be passed in this writ petition. 9. However, leave is granted to the petitioner to approach the appropriate forum for recovery of streedhan, in accordance with law. 10. Writ petition stands disposed of. 11. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings. (SAUGATA BHATTACHARYYA, J.)
