JUSTICE R DEVDAS ORAL ORDER Learned Additional Government Advocate takes notice for all the respondents. 2. It is the contention of the petitioners that 3 acres of land in Sy.No.55 of Yarthiganahalli Village, Kasaba Hobli, Devanahalli Taluk, Bengaluru Rural District was granted to the petitioner's grandfather, late Sri Muniyappa - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:23010 WP No. 39537 of 2025 on 23.02.1956. Saguvali chit as found at Annexure ‘A’ was also issued in favour of the grantee. However, the name of the grantee was never entered in the revenue records. Therefore, the petitioners have given a representation to the respondent-Tahsildar, Devanahalli Taluk, to enter the name of the original grantee, late Sri Muniyappa, in the revenue records pursuant to the grant made in his favour. Therefore, a direction is sought to the Tahsildar to enter the name of late Sri Muniyappa in the revenue records. 4. Having regard to the prayer made in the writ petition and submissions of the learned Counsel for the petitioner, this Court is of the considered opinion that the respondent-Tahsildar, Devanahalli Taluk, Bengaluru Rural District, is duty bound to consider the representation given by the petitioners and pass necessary orders for entering the name of late Sri Muniyappa in the land revenue records. Needless to observe that the Tahsildar shall verify the original Grant Register, the Saguvali Chit Issue Register, and other contemporaneous records to find out - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:23010 WP No. 39537 of 2025 about the genuineness of the grant made in favour of the Sri Muniyappa. If it is found that the grant was made in favour of Sri Muniyappa, then the Tahsildar shall proceed to enter the name of Sri Muniyappa in the land revenue records in accordance with law. 5. The entire exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible and at any rate within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6. With these observations, the writ petition stands disposed of. 7. Learned Additional Government Advocate is permitted to file memo of appearance within a period of four weeks from today.
