In this writ petition, the petitioner sought for the following reliefs: i) Issue a writ of mandamus directing the Respondent to update the Service Register of the Petitioner by entering the annual increments and other Time Bound Increments that would be sanctioned for having rendered 10, 15 & 20 years of service and release the consequential financial benefits and to settle the Retirement Benefits of the Petitioner with Interest @ 8% per annum with effect from the date of retirement till the date of payment of all pensionary benefits, in the interest of justice; ii) Pass such other Order/orders as this Hon'ble Court deems fit and just in the matter in the interest of justice and equity in the eye of law. 2. The case of the petitioner is that he was initially working as a Typist in the Town Municipal Council, Malur. Thereafter, he was transferred to the Municipal Reforms Cell, a wing of the respondent–Directorate on 27.10.2009 - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:12039 WP No. 11763 of 2025 (Annexure-A). Subsequently, by order dated 07.08.2021 (Annexure-B), he was transferred to the Town Municipal Council, Magadi, as a Second Division Assistant. The petitioner retired from service on 31.05.2023. It is the grievance of the petitioner that the service records pertaining to the period from 27.10.2009 to 07.08.2021, during which he worked in the office of the respondent, have not been forwarded to the Town Municipal Council, Magadi. Consequently, the Service Register has not been updated, and his retirement benefits have not been settled. In this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 04.11.2024 (Annexure-J) to the respondent. Since no action has been taken on the said representation, the petitioner has approached this Court. 3. Having regard to the limited grievance of the petitioner and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, it would be suffice to direct the respondent to consider the representation dated 04.11.2024 (Annexure-J) submitted by the petitioner. - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:12039 WP No. 11763 of 2025 4. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. 5. Respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 04.11.2024 (Annexure-J) as expeditiously as possible, and in any event, not later than three (3) months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. 6.
